Careers at Anwar House of Therapy. Dearborn & Ann Arbor, MI + virtual

We built this clinic after experiencing burnout firsthand and deciding our team would never run on empty. We're a multidisciplinary clinic and staffing agency serving families in Arabic, Urdu, Spanish, and more, and we're hiring clinicians who want to do meaningful work with real support behind them.

Whether you're a new grad looking for your first clinical home or an experienced clinician ready for your next one, we'd love to meet you.

WHAT DIFFERENT ACTUALLY LOOKS LIKE

Here's what working here actually includes:

  • A 4-day work week. Longer days, a real three-day weekend, every week. Space to think, write, and breathe.

  • Caseload caps, stated out loud. We believe in quality over burnout, and we put a number on it so you never have to wonder.

  • A $4,000/year bilingual differential. We pay more when you treat families in their own language - currently Arabic, Spanish, Punjabi, and Albanian, based on the families we serve.

  • Real mentorship. Structured CF supervision, a mentor who answers the phone, and a team that collaborates.

  • Flexibility across settings. Clinic, school-based, teletherapy, and evaluations-only. Full-time or part-time, mix settings or focus on one. We build schedules around clinicians.

  • A team that has your back. Supportive, inclusive, and neuroaffirming.

A woman with a headscarf and purple gloves is examining a young girl's throat with a tongue depressor in a cozy room. The girl has long brown hair with a white bow and is wearing a light blue uniform. They are sitting at a white table with yellow and white tissue rolls, and there is a patterned rug on the floor. The background features a pink and white wall, a green leaf plant, a wall art with colorful blocks, and a woven wall basket.

WHY I BUILT THIS

I'm Ahlam Issa, a speech-language pathologist and the founder of Anwar House of Therapy.

I started this clinic after experiencing burnout myself. I knew too many talented clinicians running on empty, writing reports at midnight, wondering why the work they loved was wearing them down.

So I made a decision: we would do this differently. Protected time, on the schedule, not just in spirit. Real mentorship. Caseloads with a real cap. A team that treats families, and each other, with the care they deserve.

Anwar means light. That's what we try to bring into every session, and it's what I want your work to feel like too.

If that resonates, I'd love to meet you.

Ahlam Issa, M.A., CCC-SLP

Founder & Clinical Director, Anwar House of Therapy

What we actually pay

No "competitive salary DOE." Pick your discipline and where you are in your career, and see the real number.

Every range below is the actual base salary band we hire into. Where you land within a band depends on specialization and caseload complexity, and we'll walk through that math with you in the offer conversation, not after.

Choose your discipline and career stage above to see your number.

Ranges apply to W-2 clinic-based roles in Dearborn and Ann Arbor, including our evaluations specialist positions. Part-time pay is prorated on the same rate basis, and part-time clinicians keep flex time, hour banking, ramp-up protection, and paid documentation time. School-based and psychology roles have their own structures. Ask us and we'll tell you the real numbers.

A real day here

Most clinics won't show you the actual schedule until after you sign. Here's ours.

Four days a week, 9 to 7. Every protected block below is paid time, on the clock, every single day. The 3 to 6pm after-school window, our busiest stretch, stays fully open for families. One day a week, the midday documentation block becomes a team huddle instead.

9:00 – 9:30Prep time
Set up your space, review your day. Paid, protected.
9:30 – 12:00Client sessions
Five 30-minute sessions.
12:00 – 12:30Documentation time
Chart in real time, not at midnight.
12:30 – 1:00Lunch
Paid. An actual break.
1:00 – 2:30Client sessions
Three 30-minute sessions.
2:30 – 3:00Documentation time
A reset before the after-school rush.
3:00 – 6:00Client sessions
Six 30-minute sessions. Our busiest window, fully open.
6:00 – 7:00Documentation & parent communication
A full protected hour to close out your day. Then you're done. Actually done.
Protected, paid non-client time
Client sessions

14 max

sessions per day, in 30-minute blocks. That's the cap, stated out loud — not a "target" that creeps up.

3 hrs/day

of paid prep, documentation, lunch, and parent communication — built into the schedule, not squeezed around it.

0

evenings spent charting at home. Documentation happens on the clock or it doesn't happen that day.

3-day

weekend, every week. Optional Saturday shifts exist at premium pay — but only if you want them.

You don't start at this schedule. New clinicians ramp up over 6 to 12 weeks depending on experience — starting around half caseload while you learn our systems and meet your families. Nobody gets thrown in the deep end on day one.

Questions, answered straight

Do CFs really get the same 4-day week and caseload cap?
Yes. Same schedule, same 14-session cap, same protected documentation time as every other clinician. The only difference is your ramp is longer, 12 weeks instead of 6 to 8, and you get structured CF supervision the whole way through. We don't have a junior tier of protections.
What if I can't work 9 to 7?
Tell us. A five-day, 9-to-5 version of the schedule exists. Same pay, same protected time, same caseload cap, just a different shape. We built it specifically because 10-hour days don't work for everyone's life, and we'd rather adjust the schedule than lose the right clinician.
How does the bilingual differential work?
$4,000/year, paid as part of every paycheck. Not an annual bonus, not discretionary. It starts on your first check if you serve families in Arabic, Spanish, Punjabi, or Albanian, and parent communication in the family's language counts, not just therapy delivered in it. There's no caseload threshold to hit or maintain.
How does the quarterly productivity bonus work?
Once you're past your ramp, you earn $250 to $750 per quarter for sustaining a full schedule, with the exact target set in your offer based on your role and caseload. Two rules keep it honest. Your documentation has to be clean and on time to qualify, because we reward quality, not volume. And it's capped, because past a certain point more sessions means less time for families, and we won't pay you to make that trade.
What's your interview process?
Short. Send a resume, I personally reply within 48 hours, and if it looks like a fit we do a quick low-pressure call. If we're both still interested, you'll meet the team and see the clinic. No panels, no assignments, no six-round gauntlets. We move fast when it's right.
Can I mix settings, clinic, school, teletherapy?
Yes. Some of our clinicians are clinic-only, some are school-based on a school-year calendar, some mix in teletherapy or evaluations-only work. We build the schedule around the clinician, and your setting mix can change over time as your life does.
What insurance plans will I be documenting for?
Primarily Medicaid managed care plans plus commercial insurance. Documentation happens on paid, protected time built into your schedule, and you'll have real billing and admin support behind you, so payer requirements never become your evening homework.
How soon could I start?
As soon as credentialing allows, typically a few weeks from offer, depending on your license status and payer enrollment. If you're a new grad graduating soon or a school SLP finishing a contract, we're happy to set a start date months out and hold your spot.
