Therapy that treats the whole child, not just the diagnosis.
Anwar House of Therapy began as a speech clinic in Ann Arbor. Our ABA program is built on that same belief: progress comes from every modality working together, with your family at the center.
ABA, speech & OT under one roof
Your child's BCBA collaborates with our speech-language pathologists and occupational therapists. Children can attend speech or OT during the midday break without leaving the building.
Child-led and assent-based
We follow your child's interests and respect their "no." Sessions blend Natural Environment Teaching with Discrete Trial Teaching, so skills are learned through play and then practiced with intention.
Families are part of the team
Caregiver training is built into every plan. Your BCBA meets with you regularly to review progress, coach on strategies at home, and adjust goals. Care is culturally responsive and available in Arabic, Urdu and Spanish.
Real-life skills, taught one step at a time.
Every goal is chosen with your family after a full assessment. These are the areas our program is built around.
Requesting and labeling
Asking for what they need, naming the world around them, and building toward conversation, with vocal speech, signs or AAC, whichever fits your child.

Independent living skills
Toileting, feeding, dressing and safety skills that make each day easier at home.
Receptive learning & attending
Following directions, sitting with a task and listening for what comes next.
Social skills
Turn-taking, greetings, joining in and building friendships with peers.
Play & imitation skills
Copying actions, exploring toys in new ways and playing alongside others.
School readiness
Group routines, transitions and classroom skills, with adaptive schedules for kindergarteners.
Safety skills
Staying close, responding to their name and understanding everyday dangers.
Evidence-based from the first assessment to the last goal.
A clear, ethical process led by your BCBA. Here is what to expect.

-
1
Comprehensive assessment
Your BCBA uses evidence-based tools to map your child's strengths and needs before any authorization is requested.
-
2
An individualized treatment plan
Goals for your child and for your family, a behavior intervention plan when needed, and a transition and discharge plan from day one, so services always point toward independence.
-
3
Daily 1:1 sessions with a technician
A Behavior Technician or Registered Behavior Technician works with your child every session, using Natural Environment Teaching and Discrete Trial Teaching.
-
4
Weekly BCBA supervision
Your BCBA observes sessions and coaches the technician every week, providing 5–20% supervision so treatment stays responsive and ethical.
-
5
Caregiver training & progress reviews
Regular meetings with your BCBA to review data, practice strategies for home and school, and update goals as your child grows.
-
6
Reassessment & next steps
Before each reauthorization we reassess to decide together whether to continue, reduce hours or transition out of services.
Concentrated blocks, not a 40-hour week.
Children attend 10–25 hours a week in focused sessions, so therapy fits around naps, preschool and school instead of replacing them.
Morning. Ideal for ages 2–5. Early skills, play and communication while energy is highest.
No ABA sessions. Children can attend speech or OT down the hall as needed.
Afternoon. Ideal for ages 4–6, with adaptive schedules for kindergarteners.
After school. For school-age children who need less intensive support.
Small caseloads. Familiar faces.
Your child works with the same technician day to day, supervised by a BCBA who knows your family by name.

ABA, explained plainly.
Have a question that isn't here? Call us at (734) 224-9121.
What is ABA?
Applied Behavior Analysis is an evidence-based, therapeutic practice that targets behavior. In practice that means reducing behaviors that get in the way and increasing communication, safety, play, social and daily living skills.
Who qualifies for ABA at AHT?
We are enrolling children ages 2–10 with a current autism diagnosis and a prescription for ABA from a pediatrician or psychologist.
What goals will my child work on?
Goals are individualized. After the initial assessment, your BCBA builds a treatment plan with your family. Goals may include behavior reduction, communication, social skills, safety skills and independence at home.
How involved will our family be?
Very. We encourage families to take part throughout treatment. Your BCBA meets with you regularly to track progress, work on caregiver goals and talk through concerns.
How many hours a week are services?
Your BCBA determines the intensity after the initial assessment. Most children attend 10–25 hours a week in morning, afternoon or after-school blocks, Monday through Friday from 8 AM to 7:30 PM and Saturdays 10 AM to 2 PM.
Who will be working with my child?
A clinical team of a Behavior Technician (BT) or Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) and a BCBA. The technician provides 1:1 services daily and the BCBA supervises your child's program and the technician every week.
Can my child receive speech or OT at the same time?
Yes. Speech and occupational therapy are offered in the same Ann Arbor clinic, and the daily schedule includes a midday window so children can attend without missing ABA.
Which insurance do you accept?
Medicaid, Washtenaw County CMH and most commercial plans, including Blue Cross Blue Shield, Priority Health and McLaren. We also offer private pay. Call us and we will verify your benefits before you commit.
